Intralesional injection places medication directly into an inflamed breakout to settle it within a day or two. The longer it stays swollen, the more the tissue beneath is damaged and the higher the scarring risk, so the aim is to shorten that window. It is not fundamental oil or pore care.

It is given only as needed when inflammation flares. It settles visibly within twenty-four to forty-eight hours, because the drug suppresses the inflammatory response directly. It is not a scheduled treatment, and if you need it often, it is better to plan oil and pore care alongside.

Repeating it at the same spot in quick succession can thin the skin or leave discolouration, so the interval and amount are chosen carefully — the drug affects surrounding tissue as well as the inflammation. The spot may look pale for a while, and this usually returns to normal with time.
