It is done in three to five sessions at two to four week intervals. After three sessions it tends to hold one to two years, because sealed vessels stay gone. If you are prone to new vessels forming, or the cause of the flushing persists, it can return over time.

Excel V aims directly at the red pigment inside a vessel and seals that vessel alone. Genesis warms broadly and reduces redness gently. When the target is distinct — a visible thread vein — Excel V is precise; when the whole area is red without clear edges, Genesis reads more natural.

It can look bruised for a few days afterwards. That is a normal response — the contents show through as the vessel seals — and it is usually absorbed within a week. Large vessels are cleared across several sessions, since doing it all at once leaves a bigger mark, and sun protection is essential.
